I guess we decided to take it for granted that users also follow the forum and the s9y changelog, meaning they'd be aware of the fact that the latest BP is always included there

bulletproof vs. default is a confusing thing. Basically, BP is the "standard" theme, i.e. the one chosen by default for a new s9y installation. Yet default is the "fallback" template, i.e. the once where s9y fetches template files which might be missing in other themes' directories.

So no, you have nothing messed up if you have both of them.

    Thanks for the fast reply

Dunno. I just felt like missing something. Perhaps I was thinking if there are updates, why don't I get more changelogs here, etc.

What about having a post telling users that the latest version always is included in S9Y already, or something.

Also I just wonder why I have a bulletproof and a default folder in my installation with different templates in it. But I fiddled around a lot in the last few months, so I might have mixed something up there myself ...

Why? It's not like BP needs any major work, is it? (In fact I can indeed promise some minor adjustments in the next version released with s9y.)

As for releases here - that's simply not really necessary any longer, especially since BP became the s9y default theme.

And finally: I think pretty much everything that can be described in general has been posted in this blog. I'm not saying it couldn't use more documentation, but who's got the time? We all have day jobs, you know?

So, what's left to make you (or anyone, for that matter) feel uncomfortable?

    Hm.

In S9Y there is bulletproof 1.4 dated 2008-12-16.

The download area here lists 1.2 dated 2007-12-10.

The last entry here is dated 2008-08-26.

Somehow that makes me feel a little uncomfortable.

Phil - your request would be better posted on the serendipity support forum at http://board.s9y.org/ since it is not specific to the bulletproof template.

I'm not trying to be evasive, rather there is a much larger audience there that could assist, as well as benefit from the discussion. Can you register there and re-post the question?

    Search Engine Friendlieness

Hi - In testing install, creating categories and adding test posts to them, i see there are no page titles, or meta keywords that follow site.

example

title>category>page topic> for the actual page title and then meta tags we could seee that match this and that we could suppliment as well..???

Is there some setting that i have missed?

If not is this a possible pending addition to the app?
Think I went brain dead over the holiday!

"However, it might be worth looking at a left and right sidebar with a footer sidebar variation in a future release." was of course what I meant.

I just wondered what the implications might be in admin/configure plugins.
We already have that. Both of them.

But you're right: Adding another sidebar would probably cause problems for those layouts which don't use it.

I've read this a few times now and I'm still not sure what column config we're talking about here

I think three sidebars, no matter where they are, is probably one too many - I'm guessing it would cause some problems in the admin interface. However, it might be worth looking at a left or right sidebar with a footer sidebar variation in a future release. I'll take a look when I've time and we can discuss whether it has merit.

Is that called 4-column in the lingo? When you say 4 columns I think side by side. If you look real quick I think you'd get what I meant quicker than me trying to explain in more words heh.

Basically standard 3 column up top, but then leaving a right or left column blank and throwing the gadgets that would have been there down below by the footer.

Sorry if I missed it, but actually I upgraded my Serendipity last week and saw there are now several additional options, but there is still not one which is like I'm describing. Basically 3 column is maintained (so main body is centered) BUT only right column is used and then left column appears below. I DID notice you can have one column dropped below and 2 columns (main+sidebars) up top, but that's not what I meant
